We are coming into our favourite time of year! The town has been made ready, flowers are blooming, the birds are gong nuts and there are lambs a-plenty. Its time in that case to let you know about some of our favourite springtime activities here in North Devon which are not beach related (our favourite beaches can be found here).
1) Clay Pigeon Shooting
We have been out shooting with our kids for years, its a fun afternoon out made even more fun by Clive and his faithful hounds at the North Devon Shooting ground. It is around 10 minutes by car on the way to Woolacombe. Its totally family friendly welcoming all levels and abilities. Clive and Jackie are proud to offer the highest quality and service for all levels of shooting experience.

2) Messing About On Boats
No seaside holiday is complete without a trip out on the Atlantic. There are trips for all tastes and ages ranging from scuba diving and speedy powerboats for the adventurous to more sedate cruises along the coast. Depending on the time of year some of the boats offer DJs and drinks as well :-) We have outlined some of our favourites here
3) Lynton and Barnstaple Railway and the Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway.
Any kids or big kids who love a railway are in for a treat. The Lynton and Barnstaple railway is open from April and the fascinating and historical Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway is always worth a visit.
4) Valley of the rocks
This breathtaking extrordinary and magical place is well worth a visit. Pictures do not do justice to the incredible scenery and views in this unique environment. You can have fun spotting the many goats that roam around freely and there is plenty of scope for climbing or just having a picnic. One of our favourite things to do here is to watch the open air theatre productions that happen throughout the year.
What do we have here then? The Combe Martin. Dinosaur and Wildlife park has long been a favourite with the kids. Alongside the dinosaurs there are lions, sea lions, wolves and emus along with rides to keep everyone entertained. Find out more here
